School of Art Commencement Program

The School of Art commencement program features a deconstructed school shield, bright colors, and multi-directional typesetting.

I love how the elements of the shield become an integrated textural element of the piece; their shapes are familiar, but their setting is new.

Note that several key Yale identity guidelines are here: the Yale typeface, use of Yale blue (and white), and ceremonially-appropriate use of the School of Art shield. This poster/program imparts a very different effect than one would expect given its adherence to the Yale identity!

Congratulations, class of 2012. More Commencement design coverage to come in upcoming posts!
